A few questions I get quite often.

How does a One-on-One work?

This is what others refer to “coaching” but I think of it as a conversation with your wisest bestie. I am not an MD or a licensed therapist– I am offering insights based on my own personal experiences. A One-on-One is like a concentrated conversation focused on the issues that are challenging you. Think of this session as concentrated data-gathering. I’ll listen to what you want to explain, ask a ton of questions and give you some initial feedback. Then I will create a customized set of tools for you to apply to the topic discussed. After each One-On-One, I send a password protected link with what I call Marching Orders, in the form of a podcast or pdf (whichever helps you learn, best). The Marching Orders contain a synthesis of our chat plus custom tools to help you make the most efficient, positive change. Think of it like a prescription for following your highest self. I also include a reading list of books related to your struggle. We can talk via Skype, GoogleHangouts or FaceTime – if you have another platform you’d like to chat on, just ask. Once you purchase a plan, I'll reach out to you to schedule our first chat and then I’ll contact you at the appointed time.

What’s the difference between a One-on-One and Just-a-Chat?

A One-on-One is an hour-long Skype or FaceTime convo where I ask you lots of questions and gather information about the issue you’re struggling with. I then synthesize that information and reframe it for you based on what I can see is happening. I then create custom tools and deliver them to you in what I call, “Marching Orders.” (For those who prefer to learn by reading, alternately I offer pdf’s.) This is basically a custom podcast posted to a private link - including a reading list. This podcast is very condensed information so it usually gives clients a lot to work on on for several weeks to several months.

Just-a-Chat is just an hour-long conversation via Skype or FaceTime with no follow-up from me. It’s a plan I added for those who are too financially stretched to book a One-on-One but really would like to confront a particular issue. It’s also for those who have worked with me longterm who could just use a little “brush up” on an issue. During this time I try my best to pass on as much insight and as many tools as I possibly can. I also welcome clients to follow-up with any questions via email once the session is over.

Do you offer refunds?

Not unless it’s an extreme situation. The reason being, this is my personal time and I don’t have a lot of it, so if you’re unsure, I would suggest listening to a few episodes of Help Me Be Me to make sure my style appeals to you. What you hear on Help Me Be Me is pretty much the person you’ll get.  I’m honest, direct and I take your problems to heart. I will talk to you like I talk to a bestie and give you the tools I often use myself.

What topics do you cover?

I specialize in healing from break-ups, overcoming personal growth challenges, understanding yourself and others in relationships, growing your confidence and aligning yourself with what you want in career/life.  That said, I am willing to help you on another topic, if I can – safely. I am not a licensed therapist therefore I do not do work around anything that might trigger you or compromise your emotional balance.  That's not because I don’t care, but because I care deeply and I don’t want to threaten your safety. If you’re struggling with severe and painful emotional issues, please call your local emergency services and/or seek out the help of a local professional. There’s no substitute for getting the right help and the money is worth it! If you’re still unsure if your situation is the right one, just ask me via email and I’ll let you know if I can be of service.

Why do you do this?

I love people and I believe change seems a lot harder than it really is – most of the time you’re looking in the wrong place and that’s why a challenge can feel insurmountable. Once I understood why I was stuck, I was free of my issues – and it’s the greatest understanding I ever got. I want to pass that along to you – because hopelessness is just about the worst thing you can ever feel. Don’t give up on yourself.

Do you take insurance?

No, I am not a medical professional and I do not accept insurance. I accept credit card payments via Stripe and transfers via Paypal, Venmo, and Square Cash.

What's your cancellation policy?

I ask that you give me at least 12 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session (and at the very minimum 4 hours). If you do not give me enough advanced notice, I count it as a "no show" - in other words, you forfeit the sesh.

Do I have to use all my One-On-One's within a specific time period?

Your plan exists for when you need help the most so you have a full year to use your purchased One-On-One’s. If you get a lot out of the first sesh and you want to hold onto your next two, no problemo. Just reach out when you’re ready to schedule your next One-On-One and we will book your next sesh.

If I purchase a specific plan, can I change my remaining sessions to a different plan, later?

Yep. I’m flexible when it comes to what I love to do, so if you want to work on a Personal Growth Spurt instead of an Ouch My Heart, just let me know.

Can I gift a session to a friend?

Absolutely! I get this request quite often. I just ask that they use it within 1 year of the date of purchase.
